Security Manager (Calgary, Ab)

Team

In this newly created role and team, you will be reporting to the Vice President, Technology and building out Ziing’s tech stack. You will be utilizing bleeding edge technology and building products that are driven by generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As the Security Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing security policies, procedures, and protocols for our organization's technology infrastructure, architecture and applications. This will involve identifying and mitigating potential security threats, monitoring and analyzing security-related data, and ensuring compliance with all relevant security standards and regulations.

What you’ll do

• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices
• Investigate security incidents and provide recommendations for remediation and prevention
• Monitor and analyze security-related data to identify and mitigate potential security threats
• Implement and maintain security controls and technologies to protect against threats and vulnerabilities
• Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols for our technology infrastructure, architecture and applications
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations

What we’re looking for

• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are a plus
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of security concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, vulnerability scanning, etc.)
• At least 5 years of experience in security management within the technology industry
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Experience with security frameworks and regulations such as ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA, and GDPR
