Job Summary


Reporting to the Resource Coordinator, the Secretary III is responsible for the efficient and confidential provision of reception, secretarial and administrative support to the Radiation Oncology Program. The incumbent will take direction from various stakeholders including managers and directors within the program.


Responsibilities include scheduling and organizing meetings, taking minutes, maintaining various staff and student schedules, preparing correspondence such as agendas and memos, data entry (including payroll), prepares various reports, preparation and keeping track of purchase orders, invoices, travel arrangements, and other general office duties. The incumbent will take direction from various stakeholders including managers and directors within the program. Flexible and non-conformal shift patterns may be required. Flexibility to work at both MacCharles and 825 Sherbrook sites daily.


Qualifications


Required:


  • Must be able to legally work in Canada
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams and Outlook)
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a senior secretarial position
  • Successful completion of a recognized administrative or secretarial training program or the equivalent in education and experience as determined by CancerCare Manitoba

  • Ability to liaise with staff at all levels in the organization and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt to stressful situations
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills


Will Be Assessed During The Testing Process


  • Computer keyboarding skills of 40 wpm with high degree of accuracy
  • Written communication skills – Written composition test (70% passing benchmark)
  • Medical Terminology Test (70% passing benchmark)


Preferred


  • Experience working in a healthcare environment


Asset


  • Ability to speak French
