Resort Accountant Jobs

Position Summary

Reporting to the Resort Controller, the Resort Accountant assists with the day to day, monthly, and annual operations of the accounting department that managers Eldorado Resort. This includes Hotel Eldorado, Manteo, and Eldorado Marina.

What will you be doing?

• Review daily revenue postings in Opera (PMS), Squirrel(POS), MOLO (Marina POS)
• Issue cash floats as required for new team members
• Supporting production of payroll productivity reports and related analysis
• Provide operational accounting and systems support to Marina team
• Prepare daily revenue journal entries to be posted in Accounting System
• Facilitate funding for due-back distribution
• Credit Card / Gift Card – Reconcile daily and address any variances, IT related Moneris issues
• Communicate and enforce SOPs as directed by resort executive team
• Assist with guest inquiries related to credit card payment disputes
• Support the F&B Team with quarterly inventory counts and/or spot checks
• Track and record the daily gratuity/due back liability
• Review and Audit daily cash drops
• Projects as assigned
• Reconcile Cash Balance on Monthly Basis
• Assist F&B Team with building and maintaining inventory control system
• Provide vacation coverage for A/R team member when away
• Investigate Credit Card and Cash Variances

What are we looking for?

• POS Software experience, Squirrel preferred
• PMS software experience, Opera/Fidelio preferred
• Post-secondary education in Accounting or Hospitality
• Credit Card / Gift Card processing and reconciling knowledge, Moneris preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 1+ years Hotel Accounting experience
• Can work independently and in a team environment
• A flexible and adaptable to change, can-do attitude
• Intermediate working knowledge in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to meet or exceed deadlines
• Strong administration and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of accounting software
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures preferred
