About The Role

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and miscellaneous duties to ensure that the buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.

Position: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Compensation: $21.64-$25.18 per hour plus applicable shift premiums

• Shift premiums compound- additional $5.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr on 2400hr (midnight) Friday – 2400hr (midnight) Sunday
• Weekend shift premium – additional $2.00 per hour between 2400hr (midnight) Friday – 2400hr (midnight) Sunday
• Evening shift premium – additional $3.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr

Indirect Compensation

• 3 weeks vacation pay which increases with length of service

Qualifications

Education and experience

• First Aid preferred but not required
• Recent related experience
• WHIMIS preferred but not required

Job Skills And Abilities

• Access to reliable transportation
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
• Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products
• Good time management and decision making skills
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Effective interpersonal skills

Physical Demands

• Ability to carry out all physical duties associated with position

Environmental Conditions

• The Housekeeper will be required to work with cleaning products that can be harmful if not properly utilized.
• The Housekeeper will be required to work at multiple sites according to a rotating schedule. Evening and Weekend work is applicable to this position.
• The ability to work well independently while under pressure in a frequently changing environment

Other Requirements

• Ability to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination
• Criminal Record Search in accordance with agency policy
• Valid BC driver’s license and use of reliable vehicle
