Job Description

Our Calgary location is seeking an experienced Ramp Supervisor to support our diverse operations. This Part-Time position will work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. The successful candidate must be available to work the below shift.


Description


The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, developing, administering, coordinating, and implementing the Ramp Agent programs within one or more divisions and/or departments. The Ramp Agent Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring all Ramp agents work safely and follow proper procedures.


The successful candidate should be able to work these shifts:


Thursday - Monday 19:00 - 03:00


Responsibilities


  • Operate all ground service equipment as required.
  • Establish and lead a high-performance ground handling team to meet and exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and prioritize work for self and staff.
  • Ensure adherence of corporate, departmental, and OH&S policies and procedures inclusive of FHA’s, FLRA’s, and Toolbox Meetings.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
  • Direct passengers on the apron as instructed by customer service agents, as required.
  • Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot issues within the ground handling process.
  • Monitor staff attendance and performance, and report issues daily to Operations Supervisors.
  • Perform audits on handling, safety and security as required and involvement in implementation regarding aircraft handling.
  • Ensure correct baggage loading information is given to each aircraft, including any ballast concerns.
  • Assist Operations Supervisors in completing time-sheet approvals on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Train ramp staff on Airlines operational requirements for the aircraft.
  • Ensure KPI’s and monthly safety and services levels are met.
  • Communicate changes in policy, procedures, products, services, or any other alterations that affect delivery of customer care.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback to staff members in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Effectively schedule manpower for assigned department.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
  • Lead and run staff members accordingly through Airlines training network.
  • Plan, design and perform ramp services according to the standards set by Executive Flight Centre, including loading/unloading, marshalling, and chocking aircraft, grooming aircraft including lavatory and potable water servicing as required.
  • Determine required supplies and equipment for ramp operations.
  • Assist in field maintenance, primarily on the apron and around the building entrances for snow clearing and grass cutting, as required, and as directed - for specific bases only.
  • Make sure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution.
  • On-call duties as required.


Qualifications And Experience


  • A certificate or diploma in a related field is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a team lead or supervisory position.
  • Able to work in inclement weather, overtime, and extended shifts as required.
  • Able to lift or move up to 60 lbs as required.
  • Able to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • First Aid and CPR would be an asset.
  • Able to analyse and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
  • A strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
  • Airport Security Clearance and Driver’s Abstract is required as a condition of employment.
  • Class 5 driver’s license is required.
  • Proficiency with MS Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Must have basic mathematics, trouble shooting skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Obtain a restricted operator’s certificate (radio license) within 60 days of employment.
  • Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Experience in an aviation operational role preferred.
