WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Reporting to our Director of Coffee, Quality & Safety, you will oversee the Food Safety & Quality Programs. Sound like a lot? Don’t worry, we got you covered. You will work alongside some incredibly kick ass people, and collaborate with each department, to ensure we are compliant with all certification guidelines! You will also see to it that our Quality Assurance (QA) teams maintain alignment and consistency across the organization. To get specific:


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the auditing process for FSSC22000, develop internal guidelines to maintain compliance.
  • Product testing and data analysis.
  • Chair the QA Champion meetings.
  • Work with Kicking Horse Coffee team members and external partners to continuously improve food safety and quality programs, ensuring alignment with FSSC22000.
  • Be a resource for all departments on the implementation and maintenance of required actions for our Food Safety Management System.
  • Develop, update and work within the overall organizational policy and guidelines to ensure a food safe and quality product.
  • Support leaders, staff, and QC reps with training, troubleshooting and technical resources.
  • Facilitate quarterly food safety management and participate in other required meetings.
  • Facilitate compliance with food safety, regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Assist in conducting and evaluating internal and external food safety and quality audits.
  • Inspire, motivate, and empower departmental QC reps and leaders to manage quality and food safety in the organization.
  • Participate in nonconformance investigations and document the investigation process.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of ISO management systems.
  • Talented training ability, you are equipped with key tools and skills to provide training to future QA champions and trainers.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with food safety programs and adhering to industry certification guidelines through program development and complying with audit guidelines.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and other PC applications (MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience in research, analysis, interpretation and implementation of food safety and quality assurance regulations, programs, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Proficient in product testing and related data analysis.
  • Formal education or training in Food Safety. Including knowledge with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Plan), GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) Certifications.
