About The Role & Team
As a QA Automation Engineer (Load and Performance), you’ll work with theScore’s product management, core and client engineering teams to help them validate and automate several load & performance suites from end-to-end for our Mobile & Web products to ultimately help maintain performance and reliability standards. In addition, you will be involved in the day-to-day Automation activities and assist with the QA testing effort during our release cycles. The ideal candidate has strong communications skills, attention to detail, up-to-date knowledge of test automation, and a solid background in performance testing highly distributed microservices. An interest in professional sports & betting is a plus.
About The Work

• Build and maintain service integration tests to ensure healthy environments are available to QA for manual, performance, and automation testing.
• Become a product & service expert to ensure the performance tests and framework align with our delivery & compliance methodologies.
• Meaningfully contribute to test strategies, test automation, performance benchmarking, integration testing, and systems congestion modeling.
• Investigate test failures using root cause analysis during triage, prioritization, maintenance, and planning efforts.
• Other duties as required.
• Find novel solutions to unique problems and demonstrate and articulate proof of concept approaches.
• Provide precise and timely reporting of test KPIs - client & backend performance bottlenecks, risks & issues identified.
• Support weekly product releases by crafting, running, and reviewing automated load & performance test plans.
• Implement & maintain performance & load test frameworks for distributed microservices via GraphQL & RESTful APIs.
• You will be a strong developer with excellent analytical, debugging & problem solving skills.
• Steer and support the product integrity through solid partnerships with the Product Management, Core, Client, and Delivery teams.

About You

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in gRPC & Elixir testing is beneficial.
• Experience using version control (Git), defect tracking systems (JIRA) and test case management & specifications tools.
• Experience automating integration tests using tools like k6.io, REST-assured, pact.io, or similar.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team while prioritizing daily tasks.
• Experience testing GraphQL client & server applications supporting websocket subscriptions.
• Experience with k6.io or other modern scriptable load and performance testing tools.
• Experience with Jenkins scripted pipelines and YAML configuration language.
• Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
• Nice to have: AWS & GCP experience, experience designing and testing kubernetes deployments and containerized systems.
