About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Software QA Engineer\Tester to join our growing QA team.
This role plays an important part in our company’s product development process as you will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs. Ultimately, you will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
·Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and valuable feedback.
·Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the functionality, performance, and usability of our geotechnical software applications.
·Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
·Design, develop, execute, and maintain automation scripts.
·Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing to identify software defects and ensure adherence to specifications.
·Collaborate closely with software developers and product managers to understand software requirements and user workflows.
·Identify and document software defects using bug tracking systems and drive them to resolution.
·Continuously monitor and improve the quality of software products through rigorous testing methodologies.
·Stay up-to-date with the latest industry best practices, emerging technologies, and testing methodologies relevant to software quality assurance.
Requirements:
·Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
·2+ year experience in software testing
·Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
·Proficiency in writing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
·Experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems.
·Familiarity with various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
·Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and Java.
·Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
·Must meet the eligibility requirements to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Experience with automated desktop-app testing tools such as TestComplete.
·Experience with Azure DevOps and git.
·Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
·Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web application testing.
·Familiarity with performance testing tools and methodologies.
·Having a Geotech background is an asset.
