Thermolec, located in Ville Saint-Laurent, has been in business for 50 years and is a leader in the manufacture of commercial and residential HVAC products. The company is also well established in North America in the electric heating and humidification market.
We are looking for a Purchasing and Inventory Manager to join our dynamic team.

The position
Under the supervision of the Vice-President, the Purchasing and Inventory Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling operations related to purchasing and inventory management. They will work closely with employees under their supervision in the parts department to ensure optimal product availability while respecting budgets and deadlines. Finally, they will ensure the development and maintenance of lasting relationships with our suppliers as well as negotiating new contracts.
Your future responsabilities
- Verify invoiced prices with the accounting department, compare them with purchase orders, and validate any discrepancies with suppliers if necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date price lists and any other relevant information for the purchasing department in the ERP system.
- Participate in the development of sales forecasts according to sales and production schedules.
- Resolve any issues related to purchases, deliveries, and products with the suppliers and follow up with the internal team.
- Conduct close follow-ups with suppliers to ensure compliance with timelines, product availability, and to obtain competitive prices.
- Optimize purchasing and inventory processes by researching and proposing strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Prepare purchase orders and send them to suppliers, follow up on orders in progress, and ensure their timely delivery.
- Receive goods through the ERP system.
- In collaboration with the parts department, ensure the availability of products and inventory levels and evaluate restocking needs.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate terms of purchase, and conclude contracts.
- Generate regular reports based on established KPIs (costs, expenses, inventory levels, purchasing performance, etc.), provide analysis and recommendations to improve processes in place.
- Establish and maintain lasting relationships with suppliers.
Your experience
- Fluency in French and English, both oral and written.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing and inventory management in a manufacturing company.
- Knowledge of the HVAC industry is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software and ease of use of ERP software.
- College diploma in purchasing, procurement, or any other related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
