Role


This is a Finance position responsible for overseeing and providing direct supervision to the Inventory Control, Quality Control, Driver Check-In and Will Call positions. As a working-supervisor the incumbent will be required to support these departments in performing and reviewing quarterly cycle counts; investigating inventory outs; performing and overseeing all QA functions in accordance with Sysco Food Safety standards and various customer specific standards; providing guidance and direction to DC and Will Call to support their daily activities; and ensuring appropriate backup exists for all roles.


Role Responsibilities


  • Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.
  • Performs QA duties and is well versed with Sysco QA standards and best practices.
  • Enable, champion and embrace an inclusive culture
  • Ensure all functions are carried out per FAMM standards.
  • Comply with all applicable regulations/laws and company policies,
  • Ensures integrity of the physical count of the in-house inventory in accordance with FAMM, which includes a minimum of four (4) cyclical counts per year; one full count per quarter.
  • Develop, document and implement procedures and processes.
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • In co-ordination with the Merchandising & Sales teams, assists in debiting vendors for products that do not meet standards.
  • Assess and report out inventory shrink and/or spoilage to stakeholders.
  • Create a positive work environment that enhances the working relationship with IC, QC, DC and Will Call Associates and other departments.
  • Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
  • Ensure that IC/QC staff maintains all system inventory including freshness counts and checks, product rotation and damage checks.
  • Review any inventory errors that may have occurred as escalated by IC associates.
  • Participates and reviews annual Internal Audit results for departments.


Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About You)


  • Experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Minimum one (1+) year in a leadership capacity.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, intermediate is an asset.
  • Minimum two (2+) years of warehouse, inventory control, QA, or related experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
