Job Description
MATRIX is a national company providing camps, logistics and aviation management services to a diverse range of clients in the resource and service sectors. Terrace is the regional hub for northwestern BC supporting mining exploration camps with expediting, people movement and supply chain services. MATRIX’s safety and efficiency to our clients is of top priority.
This position will assist the Purchasing and Logistics functions in ensuring the smooth functioning of those departments. This is a full-time salaried role based in our Terrace BC Location working a general Monday through Friday, schedule.
Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager the key responsibilities for this position will include:
  • Follow up with logistics to ensure delivery requirements are met and report any issues to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Administrative assistance with competitive procurement process.
  • Act as liaison between internal departments and external suppliers.
  • Get quotes on new orders and follow up and track the progress of any outstanding orders.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Logistics and Purchasing Managers.
  • Assist with the creation of purchase orders from approved purchase requisitions.
  • Help the Purchasing Manager in supplier assessment and selection.
  • Maintain and issue inventory of office supplies.
  • Keep record of Purchasing documentation i.e. invoices and purchase orders.
  • Assist the Receiving department as and when required.
  • Actively work with suppliers to ensure on time, in-quality delivery of all equipment across all camps, in accordance with real time delivery.
  • Requesting and entering all price quotes for parts and supplies for all our camps across BC and other areas.
  • Work with logistics on coordinating the shipping and load building for camp deliveries.
  • Follow up on deliveries and help resolve issues with suppliers.
Strategic Responsibilities:
  • Support Operations on key projects which may include onboarding of new supplies, products, and packaging, to improve quality of customer perception, cost and camp takedowns.
  • Support the Managers in supplier performance discussions and negotiations throughout structures analysis of cost data and error data.
Requirements
Required Job Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge in databases and tracking systems.
  • Minimum one year of experience and knowledge of purchasing, supply chain and administration (general office skills) are required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A service-oriented attitude, active listening and learning, time management skills, critical thinking, analytical thinking, judgement, sound decision making is highly desired.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Preferred Licensing & Certifications:
  • Standard First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Previous experience working in remote camp settings are a benefit.
  • WHMIS & TDG are desired.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required.
  • Logistics or Supply Chain educational training is an asset.
