Job Description

Green Reason is a sustainable project management firm that provides integrated sustainable program development, program and project management, sustainability consulting and ongoing training and education services for a variety of clients and projects. Our projects range from complete project management to a full range of sustainability consulting services including contractor support, occupant engagement, energy design and audits, custom program development, LEED, WELL, fitwel, Zero Carbon, Green Globes, TGS and other sustainability rating systems. We are looking for people who share our philosophy about buildings, how they are designed and operated, how they affect their occupants and the environment at large and want to help us help our clients develop and achieve their project goals. You must be able to work in an evolving, collaborative, professional yet informal environment and handle a multitude of various tasks and projects both self-initiated and in a team environment. You will be responsible for working with clients, other consultants and contractors to facilitate project solutions for a variety of projects. You will be working on multiple projects simultaneously.You will have the required skills and experience and be comfortable accepting responsibility for project deliverables and outcomes. Creative thinking, an understanding of building design, construction and operation, enthusiasm for improving the built environment and a commitment to ongoing research and education is a must.


About You

We are looking for people who share our philosophy about buildings, about project delivery and the importance of helping clients achieve their goals.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Attend project meetings and produce and distribute minutes to all project team members
  • Provide quality control reviews through all project phases
  • Prepare feasibility studies and various other studies and reports
  • Review, assess and track submittals from project and construction teams
  • Prepare Contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, etc.
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team
  • Keep the Project Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client satisfaction
  • Support our team in achieving all project deliverables and desired outcomes
  • Prepare project organization and communication charts, submittal logs, action logs, etc.
  • Assist Project Managers in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, tenders, budgets, cash flow projections, accruals and preliminary schedules
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for contractors and clients
  • Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements
  • Prepare, review and edit specifications
  • Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Track & manage site instructions, contemplated change notices and change orders
  • Assist project managers in obtaining information from clients, consultants and contractors
  • Support the Project Managers and Principals in all aspects of project administration to ensure projects run smoothly
  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines and contractors
  • Attend site meetings, conduct site reviews/audits and prepare associated reports
  • Manage project documentation including ensuring all required project documents are obtained and properly organized, distributed and archived

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in construction project management
  • Experience with sustainable rating systems – specific experience in the LEED Rating System and WELL Building Standard is preferred
  • University Degree or College Diploma in a field related to Architecture, Engineering, Construction/Project Management or Sustainable Design and Building
  • Experience in Highly effective written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience in budget tracking or quantitative spreadsheets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles

Green Reason is a virtual office to allow for flexibility and balance between work and life.While we have team members working from diverse locations the majority of our projects tend to be concentrated in the GTA and require site visits so preference for this position will be given to local candidates.
