Job Title: Program Coordinator
Organization: Calgary African Community Collective (CACC)
Position Type: Hybrid Part-time, 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Location: Calgary, Alberta
About the Organization:
CACC is a Black-founded, Black-led, and Black-focused not-for-profit collective that advocates for the inclusion of African Canadians in various areas of society. We collaborate with various stakeholders in areas of Black advocacy, education, civic/political education, and Black grassroots organizations' capacity building. Our mission is to promote the fair and equitable distribution of resources and empower Afro-centric communities in Calgary and the surrounding area.
Job Summary:
As the Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities and projects of CACC's systems change program. This role requires dedication to supporting the development of Africans in Calgary and a strong commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable communities. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in program coordination and excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop program plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with the program team
- Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and updates on program activities and outcomes
- Plan, attend and participate in organizational marketing events
- Monitor program activities and ensure they align with the organization's mission and objectives
- Market the systems change program to beneficiaries (Black grassroots organizations)
- Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for program improvement and growth
- Provide guidance and support to program participants and applicants, ensuring their needs are met
- Collaborate with stakeholders, community partners, and volunteers to ensure program success
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the systems change program
- Support the development and implementation of program evaluation frameworks
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting the development and empowerment of African communities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- 2-3 years of experience in program coordination or a related role
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (social sciences, community development, etc.) preferred
- Familiarity with subjects/ issues related to equity, diversity, inclusion and systems change
- Knowledge of community development principles and practices
