Vention helps some of the most innovative manufacturing companies automate their production floor in just a few days. Vention's online-first manufacturing automation platform (MAP) enables its clients to design, automate, order, and deploy manufacturing equipment directly from their web browser.


Vention is headquartered in Montreal, Canada, with offices in Berlin and Boston, and is used in over 3,000 factories on 5 continents. In May 2022, with 300 employees (and growing), Vention announced the closing of US$95M in Series C financing, which will be used to grow Vention's go-to-market strategy, expand the company's global distribution footprint, and accelerate the development of its hardware and software platform.



As part of the marketing team and reporting to the Vice-President Brand & Product Marketing, you will be responsible for product marketing related to the Vention platform, from a messaging and positioning point of view, up to executing launch campaigns. More specifically, you will:


Product Marketing


  • Develop a clear product strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives, ensuring the product meets customer needs and drives business growth.
  • Lead product marketing for Vention core software products (i.e., MachineBuilder, MachineLogic, MachineCloud, MachinePortal, etc.), including technical messaging, value proposition positioning, takedown statement, etc.
  • Lead “Marketing” deliverables of the TMP process for new software/feature launches
  • Define and execute a go-to-market strategy for new software/feature launch, including target audience, channel selection, campaign format, co-marketing opportunities, plan how to make the launches pertinent all year long, etc.


Product Management and Competition


  • In collaboration with Product Managers, maintain competitive intelligence on competitor’s products, and their evolving go-to-market strategies. Also, stays updated on industry developments, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform product decisions.
  • Working closely with Sales stakeholders, benchmark and provide pricing guidance to the organization for Vention’s Saas offering.
  • Support Annual Product Roadmap, and Quarterly Product Review (QPR), bringing market intelligence and feedback to new product investment decisions.
  • Work with brand marketing to support Analyst Relation playbook, educating the market on platform and product offerings of Vention.


Marketing Communications


  • Strong communication skills to clearly articulate the product vision, strategy, and updates to internal teams, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand and identify patterns, conclude on AB testing and leveraging user feedback to continuously optimize the product and improve user experience.
  • Support various brand, event and content initiatives, bringing forward product and industry expertise.
  • Act as technical authority within the marketing team, providing input and reviewing copy writing, visual selection, etc.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling abilities are essential in conveying the value proposition of the product and gaining buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills to work with sales enablement to educate Account Executives on product offering (i.e., value proposition, competitive positioning, takedown statements, etc.).


Qualifications


  • Experience in competitive intelligence in context of technical/engineering products.
  • Experience in subscription-based pricing, including bundling and packaging.
  • 8 years of product marketing experience in the context of rapidly growing Saas company, having a bottom-up go-to-market motion (e.g., company operating a developer community playbook)
  • Strong organization skills and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Engineering or equivalent.
