Procurement Officer/ Storekeeper Jobs

Our client, a government institution seeks to hire a Procurement Officer to buy products that are essential for the institution’s day-to-day operations. Provides expertise in handling procurement activities, stock inventories and all operations in the warehouse. For this role, you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure you’re identifying the most profitable offers.

The duties of Procurement Officer / Storekeeper may include:

• Responsible for verifying all goods arrived as per the agreed purchase, delivery note and agreed quantity has been received. 
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the management or supervisors. 
• Coordinate with courier companies to arrange for the delivery or pick-up of goods.
• Handle purchase requisition, quote, and issuance of LPO.
• Follow all standards for issuing and receiving stock within the store's area of operation.
• Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc., which also extends to researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
• Prepare items/goods for shipping including packing, labelling, and communicating with different entities/persons to ensure fast delivery whether inside or outside UAE.
• Plan, organize, carry out and evaluate physical stock count.
• Responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.
• Manage goods in the warehouse at all stages, from the time of moving goods into the warehouse, preserving and storing them until the time of moving goods out of the warehouse.

Most required attributes of Procurement Officer / Storekeeper we are looking for are:

• Good analytical, strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledgeable in terms of labelling, recording, and organizing store items.
• Must be well organized with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as procurement officer / storekeeper or in a similar position.
• Able to multitask and perform under pressure while remaining professional.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
