Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented individual to join our client in the education space as a Procurement Coordinator, and this could be the game-changing role you've been waiting for. In this contract position, you will report directly to the Strategic Sourcing Lead where you'll be at the forefront of supporting the Procurement Team with day-to-day clerical and administrative tasks. You’ll play a pivotal role in streamlining operations and optimizing procurement strategies where your exceptional organizational skills will shine. Could this be the right next opportunity for you? What You Will Be Doing:

  • Support the registration and evaluation of new vendors, maintain vendor records in the accounting system, and manage the lifecycle of purchase order activity using the Beanworks Automation System
  • Provide support in updating commitment and variance reports and assist in regular reporting and analysis of procurement activities
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounts Payable Team to ensure a seamless flow of purchase order and invoice documentation
  • Track purchasing activities and key performance indicators (KPIs), such as PO activity, Open POs, and turnaround time
  • Develop and implement organized filing systems
  • Monitor and analyze ongoing contracts, coordinating with internal departments for any renewals
  • Assist various departments in creating purchase requisitions in compliance with approved procurement standards and policies
  • Support the drafting of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and monitor the Strategic Sourcing process
  • Compare and analyze costs to determine the best cost scenario and make appropriate recommendations will be part of your responsibilities


What We Need From You:

  • Familiarity with Sage 50 and Procurement-To-Pay (P2P) automation tools, such as Beanworks, are advantageous
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • 2+ years of previous experience in a similar field
  • Prior experience working at an educational organization is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Commerce, or Accounting
