Description


As our Privacy Officer you’ll be part of our Data Protection Office Office (DPO), which is an international team working on privacy and data protection. Your main focus will be the processes in Canada, but you will be asked to look at international aspects of data protection from time to time. You will be reporting directly to our Privacy Officer & Legal Counsel based in Canada.


What’s On Your Plate


  • Handling and supporting general privacy questions and inquiries;
  • Identifying Privacy risks, related to the processing of Customers, Employees, Drivers and Partner Data, advising the relevant business unit in the treatment of such risks and supporting the implementation of specific countermeasures;
  • Manage other special projects on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for managing the records of processing activities;
  • Working on key data protection related processes, including: Data Breach assessments, performing Privacy Impact Assessments, Data subject rights completion and reporting;
  • Working closely with Information Security, the Legal department and other business stakeholders to help them achieve the desired state of maturity and required controls; and

So, you’re passionate about privacy and up to date on data regulations developments in Canada. If you’re not a qualified lawyer, no worries! We are looking for a privacy professional with experience and a genuine passion for privacy and data protection laws and ambition and willingness to further develop. But can you also say ‘yes’ to the points below:


  • You have experience in risk-management;
  • You know how to work well in a team and independently;
  • You are a strong communicator (both oral and written);
  • You are able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities, and make informed decisions under pressure;
  • You are willing to go the extra mile, when needed;
  • You have strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, including the ability to probe for additional information when necessary;
  • At least 4 years’ experience in privacy or compliance, preferably data management and protection;
  • French language skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of CASL and federal and provincial privacy laws in Canada, including Law 25 in Quebec, and federal Bill C-27. Some knowledge of GDPR would be helpful but not required;
  • CIPP/C certification (or a desire to obtain within 6 months);
