At least 4 years’ experience in privacy or compliance, preferably data management and protection;

You have experience in risk-management;

Manage other special projects on an as needed basis.

CIPP/C certification (or a desire to obtain within 6 months);

You have strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, including the ability to probe for additional information when necessary;

You are able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities, and make informed decisions under pressure;

Extensive experience with large-scale data related implementations following project management frameworks in both Waterfall and Agile (5+ years)

Experience developing privacy solutions which would include designing/creating/optimizing complex assessment templates, workflows, and/or Incident and data attributes.

Experience with Cross Platform integrations including alternate enterprise platforms and external sources and where necessary designing and development of APIs

Experience in and around consumer privacy and security—particularly with privacy-preserving strategies like encryption, data minimization, consent, data retention.

Background / previous work experience in the retail space is an asset.

[Nice-to-have] Privacy-related certifications, such as IAPP’s CIP/C, CIPM, CIPT, etc.

Experienced knowledge of Business Continuity Management as the sole BCM domain expert

Knowledge of methods, systems, and applicable legislative requirements for Crisis Management, Business Continuity and Operational Resilience

Extensive knowledge of Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Operational Resilience general risk profiles

Good communication, organization and project management skills

Exceptional interpersonal, relationship management and partnership skills

Responsible for supporting the creation and maintenance of sound crisis response and business continuity management and operational resilience plans

Demonstrate technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to assimilate to new knowledge.

Remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.

Knowledge and 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of data analytics methods

Solid knowledge and experience presenting using MS Power Point, Excel and Visio.

Practical experience with conducting risk assessments and testing of data protection and privacy controls

Shares responsibility for advising program managers and employees on the requirements of Privacy and ATI legislation and encouraging adherence.

Completed post-secondary, preferably in a related field OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training

1 to 3 years of relevant functional experience

(If managing a team) One or more years’ experience managing people

One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset

Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs

- Experience with symmetric and asymmetric encryption, certificate and key management, masking, and tokenization

- Experience with creating remediation plans for unstructured data, structured data, and data within a cloud environment

- Experience with using MIP (Microsoft Information Protection), and BigID

- Experience with Veronis, the primary tool the team currently uses to do data discovery and classification

- Experience with TDE (transport data encryption)

- Experience with Microsoft Purview

Administers the University’s responsibilities in responding to requests for access under the FOIPOP – receiving and evaluating applications.

Administers the process to facilitate the University’s reporting requirements under the Personal Information International Disclosure Protection Act.

Develops and delivers education and training for university faculty and staff in relation to the University’s privacy obligations and best practices.

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, with approximately seven years’ related experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).

Training and knowledge of privacy and access to information laws and regulations.

Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience implementing privacy management programs

Document, prioritize, and communicate clear privacy requirements for product initiatives and releases

At least 10 years of relevant privacy, data protection, and compliance experience

Experience with incidents and data breaches

Skilled negotiator with deep transactional expertise

Experience working closely with clients and successfully managing client relationships

* Experience with negotiating complex Data Processing Agreements

* Strong drafting, analytical, and critical thinking skills, as well as commercial acumen

* Experience of working with global teams based in different jurisdictions.

Position Type: Contract, 6 Months (with high potential of extension)

* Respond to customer questionnaires and inquiries regarding the company’s privacy practices.

* Perform vendor privacy assessments to ensure compliance with the company’s privacy standards.
