Global Privacy Counsel Jobs

At least 4 years’ experience in privacy or compliance, preferably data management and protection;

3+ years relevant experience in a Legal, Compliance and/or Risk Management function

Experience developing governance documentation (i.e., policies, frameworks, processes, guidelines), reporting, and presentations.

Previous privacy experience, including a designation with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), would be considered an asset.

Support industry advocacy activities in relation to upcoming regulatory changes.

Maintain Privacy's inventory of laws, rules and regulations (LRRs) and mapping to Risk Owners in coordination with the jurisdictional privacy offices.

Assist the Deputy General Counsel with all legal matters relating to the firm’s infrastructure, real assets, or private equity fund investments

Point person in negotiating and drafting documentation to execute infrastructure and/or real assets fund investments

Assist in reviewing placement memoranda and partnership agreements for investments in infrastructure and private equity funds

Knowledge of project management, knowledge of the services provided by a multidisciplinary professional services firm.

Familiarity with risk management and compliance and ability to understand policies and provide guidance on related matters

Support specialty practice areas in their compliance with specific data requirements.

Strong knowledge and understanding of client service

5+ experience in a privacy or compliance function, with experience in incident response, privacy impact assessments, consultations, reviews, etc.

Knowledge of federal and provincial privacy laws in Canada, including Bill C-27 and Law 25 in Quebec.

Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as organizational and time management, presentation, and independent problem-solving skills

Project or program management experience is a plus

Experience with data review, analysis, reporting

Experience with Microsoft Windows, Teams, Office365, OneTrust a plus

Undergraduate degree preferred or at least 2 to 3 years relevant experience

Be responsible for administrative activities relating to OneTrust data privacy software

Administers the University’s responsibilities in responding to requests for access under the FOIPOP – receiving and evaluating applications.

Administers the process to facilitate the University’s reporting requirements under the Personal Information International Disclosure Protection Act.

Develops and delivers education and training for university faculty and staff in relation to the University’s privacy obligations and best practices.

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, with approximately seven years’ related experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).

Training and knowledge of privacy and access to information laws and regulations.

Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
