An international Engineering company is looking for an experienced Principal Process Engineer.
The primary responsibility of the Principal Process Engineer will be to:
- Assist with process design including, development of mass and energy balances, flowsheets, P&IDs, design criteria, control philosophy and operating costs.
- Supervise the process components of scoping and pre-feasibility studies.
- Assist with metallurgical test work programmers.
- Assist with commissioning activities.
- Interpret metallurgical test work.
- Preparation of process components of study documents..
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with process design including: Mass balances, Flowsheets, P&IDs, Design criteria and Control philosophy.
- Develop operating costs
- Develop operations manning requirements
- Assist with metallurgical test work programs
- Interpret metallurgical test work data
- Assist with commissioning activities
- Supervise the process components of scoping and pre-feasibility studies
- Complete selected sections of study documents
- Work within team to ensure quality, schedule and integrity requirements are met
- Maintain good relationships with clients
- Work within the discipline team to meet priorities and requirements of studies and projects including budgets and plans
- Ensure integrity of work scope and that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable project requirements, codes and standard
- Attend project meetings, internal and external, to support project management
- Designing and documenting work to a high standard, including; design and development, preparation or checking of design calculations and specifications, studies, research investigations, report preparation
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor of Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering or similar science degree
- Previous experience in the minerals processing industry
- Experience in operating, research, corporate and engineering
- Draft and develop SWIs. Process documents for the production operations and laboratory procedures
- Perform metallurgical accounting and test works for key issues experienced in the DMS plant while upgrading plant performance
- Develop flocculant control in the thickener section
- Ongoing tails and thickening investigation to accommodate feed ramp up as per plant design
- Part of the technical team that addresses daily, weekly and monthly targets and KPIs of each of the plant’s section
- Expertise in density media separation and grade/recovery optimisation
- Involved in month-end reconciliation and material balance
