Job Description

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for accurate and timely administration of employee payroll. Maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collect, verify, input payroll information for 18 (and growing) payroll companies
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries for General Ledger posting
  • Assist with year-end adjustments and processing of T4’s and T4A’s
  • Calculate vacation and stat holiday pay for hourly employees and enter into system
  • Respond to Service Canada inquiries relative to ROE’s
  • Entry of payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary changes, position assignments, employee transfers, ROE information and other employee related updates into payroll system (currently ADPWFN)
  • Provide new hires with information to access to the payroll portal
  • Ensure payroll related legislative requirements are met
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of Employee files
  • Manage employee vacation and sick time trackers
  • Communication with managers and employees relative to payroll inquiries


Qualifications:


  • Knowledge or experience with ADP/Workforce Now (asset)
  • Knowledge of computer technology systems and software applications to prepare letters, memos, correspondence, merges, and calculations in Excel
  • Education completed or enrolled - Payroll Compliance Practitioner
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Payroll
  • Detailed knowledge of payroll/records administrative policies, methods, and procedures required for payroll system(s) and other computerized systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established deadlines; plan and organize workload; multi-task and prioritize
