Job Description
Job Summary & Requirements


To assist with the provision of patient care and the efficient operation of the unit/area under the direction of a health care professional.


Education:


  • Current Basic Rescuer Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life support or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hiring
  • Member of the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) and/or Personal Support Network of Ontario (PSNO) an asset
  • Completed a recognized program for personal support worker


Experience:


  • Previous patient care experience in health care environment or health related community work, preferred


Competencies:


  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to speak a second language, an asset
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Able to learn new tasks quickly
  • Outstanding Communication with team members, patients and families
  • Able to prioritize and organize assigned tasks
  • Take Initiative
  • Functions as an integral member of the health care team
