Part Time Equipment Operator – 10-20 hrs per week
Starting wage at $22 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing:
Our small team is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating herb processing equipment and packaging equipment, performing sanitation on herb processing equipment in accordance with Sanitation Schedule and cGMP requirements using Good Documentation Practices. This position requires familiarity with GSFI and HACCP Systems.
As part of a start-up team, you will work really hard. There will be some parts of your job that you probably do not enjoy and there will be parts of your job that you will really like. Everyone is expected to lend a hand as we learn and build our business. There are lots of opportunities for learning across different roles.
Responsibilities:
•Operates herb processing and packaging equipment
•Performs sanitation on herb processing equipment in accordance with Sanitation Schedule and cGMP requirements
•Fills out Master Batch Record using Good Documentation Practices
•Maintains clean production areas daily as defined by GMP’s
•Follows company policies & procedures, Safety and GMP procedures
•Executes all unplanned and corrective jobs safely and on time with the required quality standards
•Runs technical support checks and operations such as vibration monitoring, pressure checks, blow downs, lubrication checks, etc.
•Recovers equipment from fault conditions into standard conditions
•Supports cleaning, inspections, lubrication, and streamlining of execution
•Identifies and corrects performance issues of equipment during inspections
•Executes planned maintenance work that can be interrupted
•Assists in fine tuning and adjustment of machines during changeovers
•Hands over equipment after repairs; places tag for follow up work order.
•Executes repairs when needed; informs supervisors of anticipated interruptions
•Proactively uses down-time to further support operations
•Communicates and cooperates with operations before, during and after repairs
•Regularly participates in training with lead shift technician to troubleshoot any frequent failures
•Applies structured fault-finding procedures
•Training other staff members on theequipment lines
Job Requirements:
•Ability to work a flexible schedule (sometimes you may need to work on the evenings or on weekends, especially while training)
•Requires 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food processing
•Good physical condition; Able to lift 50 lbs. to waist level
•Able to push, pull, tip on edge, and roll barrels that weigh up to 100 lbs.
•Must be comfortable wearing protective gear for eyes, ears and breathing
•Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and make minor repairs on the spot
•Ability to follow directions as well as give them
•Strong communication skills in English
•Good understanding of machinery and equipment operations
•Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations in food manufacturing
•Patience!
•Ability to multitask and work under pressure
•Comfortable working around botanicals, herbs, and other raw materials
Skills that are an asset but not required:
Familiarity with electrical operations, mechanics, advanced process controls, power generation, hydraulics, refrigeration, pneumatics, thermodynamics, welding, machining, food processing, and sanitation, maintenance schedules.
