Our client, Pennecon Limited is a diverse organization with employees across Canada, providing services in the Heavy Civil, Industrial, Services & Maintenance, and Marine. To assist with our summer workload, our Marine division is looking for the following:
Role: Office Administrator (Procurement)
Location: Bay Bulls, NL
Temporary Employment for 3-4 month duration, with possibility of extension
The Office Administrator will be responsible for:
- Arrange medical testing as required;
- Stay in continuous contact with suppliers; request quotes, information, etc. to determine which supplier is best suited to purchase products;
- Review and process purchase requisitions, purchase order adjustments, and check-enclosed requisitions for purchases;
- Arrange and attend team meetings; take, distribute, meeting minutes as required;
- Managing craft recruitment requests,
- Coordinate meetings and events;
- Arrange travel;
- Monitor inbound/outbound shipping and receiving;
- Other administration duties as required.
- Coordinate site orientations;
- Prepare all documents, reports and other correspondence materials including bid submissions;
- Overseeing payroll reporting;
- For inquiries issued, retrieve vendor bids and performs initial commercial review for short listing of vendors. Obtain supplier technical and commercial clarifications;
- Ensure adequate supplies of office stationery, general office supplies, office furniture, and other equipment;
To perform successfully in this role, you will bring:
- Experience working on a project site would be considered an asset;
- Diploma in Office/Business Administration or an equivalency of education and work experience
- 4-5 years proven experience in an office administration capacity with extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procurement;
- Excellent organizational, communication and computer skills (Especially in excel);
- Familiarity in working in a unionized environment would be an asset;
- An understanding of the full cycle supply chain process and all documentations that goes along with purchasing and subcontractor arrangements;
Please note, this is a month-to-month contract position out of our office in Bay Bulls, NL.
