Robert Half has an open Network Administrator position available at a reputable company. To excel in this position, you should be a results-oriented problem solver who is passionate about establishing and sustaining a stable network infrastructure. You will support the business by developing, administering and maintaining the network infrastructure, making sure that the enterprise systems and related components are secure, have integrity, and are highly available. You will work with software, hardware, network security programs, and data storage systems that change frequently. Your commitment to ongoing education will be important for staying current and fully informed. This permanent opportunity is for a Network Administrator who will work in the Ottawa, Ontario, area.
What you get to do every day

• Providing control measures for LAN/WAN security, antivirus and spam
• Troubleshooting and fixing local area networks / wide area network problems, including performance, connectivity and related issues
• Coordinating and implementing network software and hardware upgrades
• Administering the operation of services related to all local area and wide area networks, following company policies and procedures

Requirements

• Knowledge of LAN (local area networks)
• Deep understanding of network analysis
• Enterprise architecture experience
• Understanding of network protocols, software and hardware involved in LAN/WAN operations
• Highly capable of troubleshooting, analyzing and diagnosing issues
• 5+ years related experience
• Linux experience highly desired
• Previous experience in production environments and being on-call
• Foundational knowledge in system administration
