National Account & Culinary Relations Manager
Job Summary
The National Account & Culinary Relations Manager is the first point of contact for both our Independent Retail customers, Direct Culinary Partners, along with a few Key National Accounts. Each of these sales channels are brand champions and relationship makers. The everyday role includes assessing account needs and monitoring all the business needs of the customers. This includes establishing strong relationships, gaining a thorough understanding of the retailer to maximize potential along with managing multiple tasks from each in the process. This role will report to the VP, Sales & Marketing.

Job Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to):
National Account Management
- Managing the company’s portfolio of products. “Managing” includes sales, customer management, strategic planning, promotional planning, assortment selection and sourcing, P&L management, consulting on packaging development and trade marketing and promotional efforts.
- Strategic planning the overall business, to include development of sales plan and sales attainment.
- Fill out all National account paperwork, new item forms, price change forms, provide ad submissions and samples, etc. and follow up with National Account to ensure placement of all orders.
- Establish annual business and promotional plan with the retailer and continually monitor progress.
- Carefully monitor the account’s P&L statement. Work to improve status at every level (Reduce days outstanding, reduce returns, minimize expenditures on account specific program, etc.).
- Communicate and coordinate customer needs within Zwilling departments required to provide superior customer service.
- Establishing strong working relationship with corporate affiliates (Zwilling USA, Germany, etc. to ensure market cohesiveness.
- Develop a relationship with support departments within retailers to ensure maximum support in all business areas.
- Special projects as directed by Vice President and/or President.
- Manage promotional funds to effectively drive the business.
- Enhance Zwilling’s position in the account through working closely with the buyer, including participating in store trips with buyers.
- Coordinate new store activities and assortment revisions, including adding Zwilling new items to retailer assortments.
- Provide all forecasts, key account reporting and other sales reports requested by management.
- Facilitate resolution of all outstanding deductions while continually maintaining detailed, accurate records in order to process and/or dispute all coop claims including Post Audit Deductions.
- Develop promotional strategy and presentations, special prepacks and events to maximize sales opportunities.
Sales Rep Management:
- Managing the Sales Reps across Canada and the overall sales to the independent retail channels
- Provide leadership through effective communication of goals, active coaching and development while comparing sales results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct when necessary.
- Work through Sales Reps to develop promotional strategies, presentation and events to maximize sales opportunities.
Culinary Relations Management:
- Establishing strong working relationships with Canadian Chefs and Direct Restaurant Partners.
- Special projects as directed by Vice President and/or President.
- Managing the sales and presentation of the company’s portfolio of culinary products in the hospitality channel. “Managing” includes sales, customer management, strategic planning, promotional planning, assortment selection, P&L management, consulting on packaging development and directing marketing and PR efforts.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Strong presentation skills required;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Creative problem-solver, able to introduce innovative solutions into a complex organization;
- Knowledge of market and competitors;
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing, is preferred;
- National mass retail experience is preferred;
- Proven track record of success with high profile customers and complex offering and solutions;
- Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy is required;
- Excellent negotiating skills required;
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years experience in an Account Manager or equivalent experience;
- Business and strategic thinker; exhibited case studies;
- Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.);
- Experience with managing customer pricing and P&Ls;
