The opportunity


The Mortgage Administration Department, Investment Division, is comprised of Mortgage Servicing and Mortgage Accounting. The department is fully responsible for the maintenance and administration of all mortgages which are invested as a portion of the Company's net assets in Canada and the United States. Currently, the administration encompasses a portfolio of approximately $8 billion and supports a network of Canadian Mortgage Branches and U.S. Mortgage Branches.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for various monthly reporting
  • Maintain and renew existing PPSA and UCC filings.
  • Provide effective administration and servicing of the mortgage portfolio from the advance of funds to the payoff of the mortgage loan.
  • Participate in projects on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Review and understand standard mortgage documentation.
  • Coordinate information, analyze and interpret documentation for the release and change of security.
  • Mortgage file management, completing checklists, updating mortgage systems, uploading documentation.
  • Assist in researching previously paid out mortgages throughout Canada and the U.S. and prepare discharges when required for outside Lawyers or previous Mortgage customers.

What We Are Looking For


  • Ability to coordinate with several partners both internal and external (borrowers, solicitors, title companies).
  • Familiarity with real estate and legal terminology.
  • 2-3 years experience in a commercial mortgage related function.
  • PC literacy including Excel, Word and Mainframe applications.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical ability.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in the financial services industry and demonstrated service attitude.
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending practices, mortgage investments and related provincial/state legislation.

Salary & Benefits


The annual base salary for this role is listed below.


Primary Location


Toronto, Ontario


Salary range is expected to be between


$40,275.00 CAD - $67,125.00 CAD
