Agilus work solutions is hiring an experienced Quality Engineer / Specialist to join our client’s team in the Manufacturing Industry. This team is a leading provider of power conversion products that are sustainable and efficient. Ranked amongst the world’s top 5 suppliers of breakthrough power electronics, they design and manufacture the industry’s broadest offering of standard products and are a market leading designer of custom power solutions.
Role: Quality Engineer / Specialist
Location: Toronto, ON
Summary: The Quality Engineer / Specialist will be responsible for new Product Development projects, product quality of existing products / designs, and leading product / design quality activities. This would include overall product quality improvement, quality risk assessment and mitigation, active involvement with design teams to identify risks at earlier stages of design process, reporting, product validation, and virtual team leadership of quality activities during the NPD process, including reliability, component, supplier related product quality issues and validation engineering. Active participation in ISO external/internal audits, support in implementation of Murata’ QMS, investigation of customer complaints and management of
SCARs/CAT/8Ds, process owner of PCN and Stop order processes.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and monitor quality KPI.
- To prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly presentations on global quality.
- Investigation of customer complaints, internal failures and to issue 8D, SCAR, CAT/CAP for any customer, suppliers, and CM issue along with data validation to ensure actions are properly implemented and audited.
- Work with manufacturing sites/quality teams to ensure successful execution of customer’s quality control plans for manufacturing of conforming products.
- Review of FA (Failure analysis) reports with focus to ensure effective corrective and preventive actions for future mitigation of similar failure modes by participating in FMEA (DFMEA and PFMEA) meetings.
- Data analysis of past problem history and warranty data to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and active participation in execution of quality plans to ensure manufacturing and product quality.
- Understanding of lean methodology to decrease nonvalue added activities for cost savings.
- Active participation in ISO external/internal audits and support in implementation of Murata’ QMS (Quality Management System).
- Active involvement in PCN, ECO and Stop order processes to make them efficient and effective.
- Lead PPAP, APQP and control plan activities with respective team members.
- RMA, quality Alerts and customer feedback to drive CI in product design and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Through understanding of IATF-16949 and other Automotive standards.
- Nice to have ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
- Highly motivated individual with a passion for Quality and innovation.
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience in quality department with strong technical knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical components, and systems.
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a PEO license.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, using 8D, A3, DMAIC, SPC, DOE, PDCA, 5P, 5Why, FT, process mapping and/or equivalent quality tools, methods, and techniques.
- Good understanding of statistical methods, continuous improvement, lean methodology (Green or six-sigma black belt certification will be plus).
- Practical working experience in MS-Word, Excel, power point, MS project and Minitab.
- Experience in working with remote teams and CMs (Contract Manufacturers).
