Microchip Technology Incorporated is a leading supplier of field-programmable embedded control solutions by delivering a broad spectrum of innovative microcontrollers, microprocessors, analog, mixed-signal and security products, wired and wireless connectivity products, related non-volatile memory products and Flash-IP solutions.
We're looking for a Business Development Manager - Product Marketing to help drive revenue growth in our 32-bit Microprocessor (MPU) business unit. BDMs work with our field sales, application engineers, and distribution partners to help find and drive opportunities through the funnel.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a good technical understanding of embedded system architecture, exhibits a customer-focused attitude and the ability to work with and lead others in the organization. The role is also a large contributor to future product development and end market strategies.
Job Responsibilities
  • Travel into various regions to visit customers with sales, deliver trainings and contribute to opportunity reviews
  • Generate sales training and customer presentations to address customer needs and position Microchip solutions
  • Understand the competitive landscape of the MPU market
  • Support field sales and applications teams to identify opportunities and help drive them to revenue
  • Establish credibility and excellent working relationships with the field sales, field applications and management teams by providing value
  • Collaborate with other business units, marketing, applications, and field teams to expand Microchip’s utilization on our customer’s designs.
  • Be a technical resource and/or liaison for field sales and applications to facilitate customer support from factory applications team as needed
  • Contribute to MPU end segment strategy and customer support requirements by providing feedback for future product development
Requirements/Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of experience in Applications, Sales or equivalent
  • Willing to adapt and learn
  • Excellent communication skills in English; listening, presenting, reading and writing
  • Available for travel for client meetings, trainings, and trade shows
  • Motivated and able to jump in and get started quickly.
  • Experience in the embedded control or processor market is required
  • BSEE or equivalent with technical marketing and/or business development experience
  • Account management experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with hardware and or software development for embedded systems is a plus
  • Semiconductor business model knowledge and specifically microcontroller or microprocessor business is a significant advantage
