BACKGROUND


Gardiner Centre (GC) is the outreach arm of the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University. We offer non-credit professional development and leadership training for existing or aspiring supervisors, managers, executives, and entrepreneurs. Our offerings are conveniently delivered in short blocks of time, practical and relevant to today's business environment, and designed to inspire and prepare individuals and organizations to reach their full potential. Our full-service, dedicated training facility ensures convenient scheduling and year-round programming to meet our clients' unique requirements. Our association with the Faculty of Business Administration ensures access to highly qualified faculty, business practitioners, partners, and thought leaders. Memorial's Faculty of Business Administration holds international accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), holding its place among the top business schools in the world.


DUTIES


Reporting to the Director of Gardiner Centre, the Manager of Operations (Training Delivery) holds operational responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of Gardiner Centre training courses and programs and supervises the operational delivery team. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring effective methods are put into place so that training runs to its maximum productivity and the Centre achieves excellence and consistency in customer service. The Manager of Operations plays a vital role in ensuring the day-to-day training operations of Gardiner Centre run smoothly. The Manager of Operations supervises and coordinates the work of the front line operations team and is expected to create a working environment which encourages team work, high productivity, energy, and creativity. The Operations Manager is an integral partner in building strong client relationships, ensuring successful business operations, supporting and building the reputation of the Faculty of Business Administration and Memorial University, and contributing to the University's core mission. Specific duties and responsibilities include collaborating with the team to plan a year round training schedule, including booking instructors, allocating training assets, managing catering services, and managing staffing plan; working with the instructor team to assure quality training materials and delivery methods; coaching the instructor team on best practices for in person and live online training; analyzing, developing, and monitoring training evaluations for courses and programs and implementing improvements based on results; conducting regular reviews of existing courses and programs to assess relevancy and effectiveness and recommending improvements (including reviewing client feedback and market research); coordinating with internal and external partners for successful delivery of training programs; collaborating with the team on training delivery review and planning; preparing, revising, and submitting reports and other documentation; discussing customer service issues or queries with clients and instructors and providing solutions; coordinating and running weekly seminar logistics meetings; working with the management team to develop and execute the Gardiner Centre strategy; promoting a positive image of Gardiner Centre and the Faculty of Business Administration and all of the services delivered; and performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Gardiner Centre.


Qualifications


Experience (3-5 years) in operations planning and logistics, preferably in a training environment; completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Education, Instructional Design, or any equivalent combination experience and training. This role requires knowledge, skills, and abilities in public engagement, customer service, instructional design, business acumen, project management, program coordination and delivery, website and database management, learning management systems, online survey tools, scheduling, event planning, and logistics. Excellent communication skills as well as organizational and interpersonal skills are essential as well as the ability to work effectively within a team. This role requires the ability to multitask, think on your feet, and make quick decisions.


SALARY $59,460 - $81,079 per annum (Management and Professional)
