Manager, Brand and Planning

CAPP is seeking a Manager, Brand and Planning . This is a full-time permanent position located in Calgary, Alberta and reports to the VP, Communications.
Position Summary
The Manager, Brand and Planning is a key member of the communications team and will deliver technical, creative, tactical, and strategic planning, implementation, project management and overall strategic support to the communications team in delivering effective messaging.
Job Requirements
- Make strategic recommendations on both internal and external content, to respond to reputational challenges and meet public engagement needs
- Pro-actively collaborate with member companies to develop content, messaging and action plans to showcase the benefits of Canadian oil and natural gas
- Working with the VP, Communications and external partners, assist with a refresh of CAPP’s overall brand
- Work collaboratively across the organization to identify and execute on opportunities for CAPP’s CEO and leadership team to be speaking about Canada’s upstream oil and gas sector
- Creatively leverage CAPP’s communications channels to amplify key messages across identified target audiences
- Curate and continuously update CAPP’s key messages and digital assets
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to elevate the organization’s reputation and brand
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong understanding of digital platforms and tactics, including previous social media and web development experience.
- Post-secondary education; preferably a diploma or degree in public relations, communications or related field.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada legally
- A minimum of ten years’ work experience in a communications function, either corporately or with an agency. Experience with media relations, or digital and social media marketing is an asset.
- Strong relationship building and facilitative skills; time and project management skills; the ability to multi-task and work in a high pace environment
- Strong knowledge of the oil and gas industry and its operations provincially and throughout Canada

- Strong analytical and strategic technical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Innovative and confident team leader with a strong ability to deliver messages and content to pertinent stakeholders
