Job Description
The Manager Will Lead Team Of Approximately 10 Professionals Stratifying 3 Three Streams Of Work
Reporting to the Director, Planning & Analysis and BI, the Manager, Analytics and Business Solutions will be responsible for delivering a user-centric suite of reporting and analytics solutions for the enterprise.
  • Product strategy: develop and management of self-service dashboard and reporting solution
  • Advanced analytics: statistical/AI/ML modeling for enterprise resource planning
  • Business analysis and stakeholder needs assessments
The ideal candidate will bring passion, curiosity and most of all, know-how in establishing an advanced analytics program in a large organization. The successful candidate is a proven leader with strong technical knowledge in the analytics and data science space with a background in math & statistics or computer/software engineering. The successful candidate must have an ability to counter-balance their technical expertise with a customer-first mindset and a pragmatic leadership approach. This role will require a high-degree of stakeholder engagement, team leadership and an ability to support significant change as new products are implemented and rolled out across the organization. Prior healthcare experience is an asset but not mandatory.
The Manager will be expected to partner with stakeholders across the organization as the team must successfully gather requirements, build a product roadmap and execute the analytics strategy. A key partnership will be required with the enterprise data team who will focus on a building a data repository for integrated, high quality data assets for use in our reporting and analytics solutions. The Manager will also be expected to work closely with the data governance manager in identifying areas of risk and opportunity to improve data quality.

  • An energetic and continuous improvement mindset with focus on professional development, research and leading practices in the analytics and data science space.
  • Experience implementing/working through an analytics community of practice (meet-ups, sharing, coding reviews, joint hiring practices, version control, etc.)
  • Experience in applying and implementing advanced stats/ML/AI tools incl. R, Python, Scala etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build relationships, evangelize the analytics program and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with strong organizational skills that enable the management of multiple and competing priorities.
  • A creative, solution-focused problem solver, with the energy and tenacity to work through a complex systems with multiple challenges.
  • An ability to measure effectiveness and deliver ROI of analytics
  • Experience engaging customers/stakeholders, assessing needs, developing and executing a product strategy roadmap
  • Proven experience moving an organization along the analytics maturity curve from basic reporting to advanced analytics (from experimentation to mass production)
  • Bachelor’s degree in math and stats, computer or software engineering. Masters or advanced business degree (MBA) an asset.
  • At least 3 years of management experience with a proven ability to lead a team of professionals (energize, coach, encourage, motivate, develop)
  • Up to 10 years of experience in the space of analytics, data science and business intelligence.
  • Familiarity with leading business intelligence solutions such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik

Unit Summary

The Data, Analytics & Planning stream of the Digital Health Plan is a multi-year program geared at investing in our data and analytics infrastructure and the people and processes who will leverage it. The Manager, Analytics & Business solutions will play an integral role supporting major milestones of the Digital Health Plan that include an advanced data repository, implementation of an enterprise-wide business intelligence solution and leading a product road map for reporting and advanced analytics to predict and optimize patient volume, mix and hospital resource allocation.
