About the job:
As part of the management services team reporting to the Senior Accountant, this position will support the accounting functions of the NNTC and performs ‘hands on’ accounting work. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of annual operating and capital budgets, cash-flow management, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, contract management, year-end work, ensuring the efficient transfer of financial information to support decision making and planning, and presenting financial / budget information to the community as required.
Qualifications:
Ideally, you have a professional accounting designation, such as a CPA designation or working towards a CPA, and at least 5-7 years experience in a First Nation government setting. Knowledge of financial legislation, government funding agreements, government business entities, and relevant taxation would be strong assets. Strong communication and team leadership skills have enabled you to successfully work with internal and external stakeholders.
