JOB SUMMARY:


The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for providing planning and support services to the team to ensure that all plant activities at the Kitchener locations are structured in a safe, efficient, cost-effective manner and with minimal disruption to process operations. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Freshstone Brand’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP & REPORTS:


Directly to the Maintenance Manager


KEY RESPONSIBILITES
  • Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based on priority and required end date.
  • Co-ordinate cleaning, snow removal and landscaping operations
  • Other duties as assigned by Management
  • Keep current with technological changes and any governmental regulations changes regarding maintenance duties.
  • Develop/setup a PM schedule for new and existing machines.
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.
  • Ensure PM’s are completed on time and reschedule if or when needed.
  • Create a PM list and order critical spare parts for any new machines or equipment prior to first use.
  • Assist the PM team as needed with data collection to further improve key metrics.
  • Prepare the downtime report for the defined period and review with PM team members
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the “work schedule” for completion by Required End Date.
  • Analyze daily stock movement and establish visuals for min and max stock quantities.
  • Regularly distribute the PM report to key individuals at the interval established by leadership.
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, etc.
  • Create and update stock tooling drawings as required.
  • Plan and execute the department budget. Analyze variances and initiate corrective action.
  • Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded.
  • Enter data into the system or database and develop PM plans for equipment.
  • Ensure WO user statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.
  • Execute the “Planning” element of the process for all types of work orders - systematic and non-systematic maintenance. This includes shutdown (PMP) and external resource-related work.
  • Work closely with MRO buying to ensure timely delivery of key parts and maintaining the stock room.
  • Ensure work orders are planned with an emphasis on safety and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification.
  • Work with key individuals to forecast, schedule resources, and book downtime for PM activities.
  • Plan and manage a facility's maintenance budget in coordination with Maintenance Manager
  • Work with a crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
  • Ensure the system or database is updated to include all required info.
  • Relief supervisor as necessary which requires:
  • Process and organize accompanying paperwork and e-file accordingly
  • Analyze work center performance data and predict trends for servicing needs.
  • Support and practice Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis + Corrective Actions and participate in related activities.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards.
  • Create spare part list and organize by machines in order easy to track where parts are being use most.
  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (Just Foods, Dynamics Nav. Etc.) tools, and standards.
  • Ensure team is setting the appropriate priorities for preventive maintenance in the company building in collaboration with Maintenance Manager.
  • Holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Establish and maintain suitable inventory levels for spare parts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate with the Scheduler to ensure all required planning/scheduling routines are followed.
  • Work with departments to ensure sufficient spares are available. Order parts if and when needed.
  • Administer contracts for the provision of supplies and services
  • Send out requests for PM and order spare parts for any outstanding work found during the PM.

TRAVEL:


  • Little to no travel is expected for this positions; may need to travel to US and Canada work locations for project implementations.


WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Ability to attend and conduct meetings
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Hours can vary depending on the business need. Must be flexible to come in early and/or stay late as required.
