Edwin Education is looking to appoint a passionate Head of Faculty for English to work at an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' (UK's governing body for standards in education) school based in London and welcomes Canadian trained teachers to apply.
The School and Role
This ‘Outstanding’ Independent school is looking to appoint their new Head of Faculty for English to join in September 2023. Working in this new school, but part of an experienced team, you will be supporting pupils across Years 7-9. You will also oversea Humanities and Social Sciences at a new school where lots of progression and opportunity is available.
Requirements
The desired Head of Faculty for English will:
Be an excellent and experienced teacher of English
Have the ability to teach English Language and English Literature throughout the school, from Year 7 to Year 11
Have the ability, or interest in, teaching History and/or Geography at Year 7 to Year 9, and developing the skills needed to line manage and oversee the teaching of these subjects
Have the ability to organise and develop all aspects of the study of English Language, English Literature and Humanities subjects
Have a Bachelor of Education / Post Graduate Diploma of Education / or equivalent teaching degree with current teacher registration
Be eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
Have recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
Bachelor of Education / Post Graduate Diploma of Education / or equivalent teaching degree with current teacher registration
