We are currently searching for an experienced Logistics / Dispatch Coordinator to join our team. This is a new position that requires someone with a strong background in logistics who can streamline processes and procedures to make them scalable to support demand as we continue to grow the business. This is a key position that will provide support to the company across several divisions.
Success in this role will require strong communication, and problem-solving skills. Our ideal candidate is a passionate people person who will enjoy working closely with our team of foreman, drivers, management, and customers to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in company training, including cross training in order to support ticketing, scales and locates
- Own and build on our current processes and procedures to support a large increase in demand, as we double in size as a company
- Other duties as assigned
- Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions, addressing any concerns, while maintaining a positive and professional relationship
- Build and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships, maintaining open communication across several divisions of Van Bree to ensure resource optimization, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records and all required documentation, providing regular reports such as tonnage reports, including tracking key measurables.
- Process and audit transportation invoices and department reports
- Proactively identify and plan for potential problems such as equipment breakdowns, weather interference and other factors that can affect a schedule completion.
- Schedule delivery of trucks, equipment, and materials, across several divisions for internal and external customers within a complex myriad of variables
- Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures, as well as government, MTO regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of logistics and inventory management/software
- Strong written, and verbal communication skill
- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Exceptional customer service skills
- 2 years experience in logistics/planning role
- Education in Logistics is an asset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Strong geographical understanding
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience working in a complex logistics role
