The opportunity


Manulife is seeking a director level Learning Lead to support the Global Learning COE programs and initiatives in North America. This role will lead a portfolio of learning projects and programs across Manulife's North American business units and segments, partnering closely with leaders to advance the global learning strategy and support a function's unique learning needs. Reporting to the AVP of Global Learning, you will be a critical link between the Global Learning COE and the functions. Partnering with an engaged community of learning leaders and key partners, you will build processes, forums, and content to advance learning at scale. You are a strong program, project, or operations manager with a solid learning and development background and possess exceptional collaboration skills, a high degree of creativity, energy, and a passion for driving a culture of learning.


Responsibilities


  • Partner with learning leaders to build learning strategies and plans aligned to functional goals and objectives
  • Empower all colleagues to feel ownership of their professional and personal growth through impactful programming and delivery of courses, events, toolkits, and other resources.
  • Collaborate with global partners to build, launch, implement, and measure the effectiveness of learning programs
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key cross-functional teams and Global Learning COE
  • Manage a portfolio of global learning projects that advance functional learning curriculums, align and integrate functional learning curriculums with the global learning strategy
  • Partner with global teams to contribute to the review and feedback of learning programs; reinforce best practices and standards for instructional design
  • Support global learning governance, increase employee awareness of available learning, and drive adoption of core programs and learning campaigns.
  • Contribute to the ongoing reporting and visibility of the status, completion, and impact of learning programs

What We Are Looking For


  • Ability to consult and influence without authority
  • Experience with various learning and development technologies and modalities, including learning management systems and learner experience platforms
  • A consistent track record of Learning and Development roles, preferably in global organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including online and facilitator-led instructional design
  • Develops and maintains strong partnerships with colleagues and other COEs and HR areas to ensure the design of aligned, scalable, and integrated solutions
  • Strong project management, organizational, and follow up skills when presented with multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience leading large projects to completion, including creating and leading project plans

Salary & Benefits


The annual base salary for this role is listed below.


Primary Location


Toronto, Ontario


Salary range is expected to be between


$100,500.00 CAD - $180,900.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
