The Human Capital (HC) team at PwC Canada includes Human Resources, Learning & Development, and Talent Management professionals. The HC team's vision is to attract, develop, reward and manage diverse and authentic leaders, at all levels, who build strong relationships and serve our clients well. We do this by partnering with our business leaders to engage and retain our people through listening to their needs and designing innovative solutions for our people. Our goal is to ensure PwC remains an employer of choice and delivers a unique people experience.

The Opportunity - Strategy & Leadership (S&L) L&D Manager

(12 Month Contract):

We are looking for a Manager who will support the Development & Talent pillar’s vision of driving value to our people, business and clients by fostering a culture of continuous learning. They will help cultivate an environment where education, coaching and teamwork are valued and our people actively seek challenging opportunities to learn and develop to their full potential.

The S&L L&D Manager, with guidance from the S&L L&D Senior Manager(s) and Director, is responsible for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions, from inception through to business impact. This role works with a degree of independence and will lead and be accountable for various L&D programs, projects and teams.

Responsibilities:

● Work collaboratively with the S&L L&D team, all Lines of Service (LOS), including HC teams, to ensure delivery of high quality, innovative learning solutions aligned to the PwC strategic plan and focus areas.

● Identify, build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the firm.

● In consultation with other SMEs, help determine learning needs and develop training solutions using appropriate instructional design that incorporate formal and experiential learning elements.

● Develop and manage the execution of implementation plans, including managing SMEs and liaising with local L&D partners and managers.

● Organize/deliver instructor briefings and train-the-trainer events, as appropriate. This often includes facilitation of courses (both professional and soft skills)

● Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments based on feedback from instructors, participants and the business.

● Coach, manage and develop others (e.g. L&D senior associates, etc.).

● Prepare, manage and account for project budgets.

● Review compliance results and determine appropriate actions including reporting to leadership, remediation plans, etc.

● Ensure the business is aware of developments in S&L L&D, including preparing formal written communications to announce upcoming L&D programs.

● Represent L&D in various committees, meetings and workstreams.

● Leverage the PwC Global network to share ideas, best practices and content as appropriate. Tailor globally developed programs for Canadian purposes.

Requirements:

● Strong interest in L&D/adult learning, coupled with a desire to develop knowledge and skills in this area. Facilitation and/or instructional design experience is helpful.

● Strong consulting skills - specifically the ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) and to maintain collaborative relationships

● Ability to develop appropriate solutions to problems (logical, efficient, innovative, etc.) taking account of any potential client impact.

● Ability to exercise judgment in involving appropriate stakeholders/SMEs.

● Ability to manage client expectations to gain consensus regarding what needs to be done.

● Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.

● Strong supervisory skills and ability to work effectively in teams and independently – often in a virtual environment.

● Excellent development of self and others through on-the-job coaching and performance management.

● Ability to work proficiently with standard Firm technology (Google, WebEx, Vantage etc.) and to learn new software.

● Understanding of coaching and leadership is beneficial, but not required.
