Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious and creative Lead Product Designer for a part-time, contract position with an immediate start. This unique role offers the chance to be the first designer, laying the foundation for our brand new product. It’s perfect for those ready to leave their mark on the future of education and who can deliver at speed.


About the role:

As our Part-Time Lead Product Designer, you'll spearhead the creation of intuitive, interactive user experiences for our pioneering product. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, hands-on design work, and leadership to navigate the product's design journey. An immediate start is required and the ability to deliver high-quality work quickly is a top priority.


Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to create innovative solutions for the product's visuals and user experience.
  2. Manage all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  3. Develop user flows, journey maps, and wireframes to communicate interaction and design ideas effectively.
  4. Establish and uphold a design system ensuring consistency across the product.
  5. Conduct user research and evaluate feedback to enhance and optimize the product.


We're looking for someone who:

  1. Has a rich portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions.
  2. Is experienced in modern user-centered design methodologies.
  3. Has superb visual design skills with an understanding of user-system interaction.
  4. Is proficient in user testing methodologies.
  5. Stays current with web trends, techniques, and technologies.
  6. Can confidently present and defend design decisions and key deliverables.
  7. Is able to hit the ground running and deliver high-quality work at speed.
