The Role

We are looking for a driven and detail orientated QA specialist to help us build out our internal quality assurance testing processes, working with our software, hardware, and machine learning components within our products.

Work as part of a small interdisciplinary team to test and support our next generation of products and technologies. With your background in software testing and process, you will have the opportunity to use your creative skills and expertise to help with challenging technical problems and improving our technologies.

Our ideal candidate is someone based in Calgary and has experience testing across Windows Desktop and web application software products. Some experience with hardware and machine learning model testing is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

The Junior Quality Assurance Specialist works within the Product Development team, interfacing with our software, hardware, and machine learning teams. They are responsible for testing and supporting the delivery of XSENSOR products.

This job opportunity involves desktop and web application software quality assurance, hardware and firmware testing, machine learning model testing, test plan refinement and execution, documentation, and data processing and management.

• Work with the QA team, development team, and product owner to improve product quality.
• Assist the machine learning team in data processing and management.
• Recommend and implement testing tools.
• Take the initiative in improving test plans.
• Work with our Quality Assurance team on evolving our internal QA software testing processes.
• Ensure test results are recorded, available, and significant defects found are surfaced to the right stakeholders.
• Test desktop and web application software on a variety of platforms.

Work Experience & Skills

• · 1 year+ experience with Windows Desktop, web application testing.
• · Strong organization skills and an appreciation for documentation.
• · Proactive and driven - this role can really be as large or small as you desire! We are looking for an individual to really support our internal QA processes.
• · Familiar with agile software development testing best practices
• · 1 year+ experience managing and testing a number of different software products.
