Junior Logistics Coordinator | Montreal, QC | Up to $60 000 | Retail

Hays Manufacturing & Logistics is proud to partner with a major Canadian retailer who is looking to recruit for the role of Logistics Coordinator. Your new role

As Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring goods are delivered to warehouses efficiently, on time, and in accordance with all company procedures.


You will tale ownership of various aspects of transportation from the point of product importation/production, to product delivery for regional warehouses. Activities include planning, coordinating, and monitoring the freight flow from vendors and ports to various warehouses. This position responds to vendor email (and phone) inquiries and works with various business partners to solve problems. This Coordinator accesses incoming emails and data, consolidates information, and generates daily and weekly reporting to run the business. This role is also responsible to handle all day-to-day tasks assigned by management; this can include (but is not limited to) tracking freight movement, data consolidation/verification/analysis, issue reporting, problem-solving, etc.



Key Accountabilities

  • Mitigate additional charges, and assist with maintaining the accuracy of carrier information.
  • Escalate issues according to established procedures in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Review Empty Declarations at warehouses.
  • Complete domestic pricing documentation, domestic tenders, and pick-up requests.
  • Find the best quality / price ratio for transporting domestic freight. Maintain an up-to-date database with a sufficient number of service provider options.
  • Confirm appointment bookings in C3 for Inbound freight. Ensure empty pickups are completed.
  • Ensure the routing of domestic freight from different places in North America to warehouses.
  • Ensure that appointments are respected, and communicate with those concerned for any delays or changes.
  • Complete various reports as required
  • Prepare customs paperwork for cross border shipments of domestic Inbound freight.
  • Ensure that systems and databases contain the most up-to-date and accurate information at all times.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Attention to detail;
  • Experience in the retail industry or with the supply chain is an asset;
  • Good computer skills, particularly with Excel and Outlook; SAP is an asset;
  • Twelve (12) months experience in a similar position;
  • Excellent work planning and organization skills;
  • DEC in transportation logistics or equivalent experience;
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
