Junior Estimator / Project Coordinator
Our client, one of Canada’s largest and fastest growing construction companies, is actively looking for a Junior Estimator for their office in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist in reviewing project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements.
· Collaborate with senior estimators to analyze project scope, identify potential risks, and determine the most efficient and cost-effective construction methods.
· Assist in performing accurate quantity takeoffs from drawings, blueprints, and other project documents.
· Verify and update pricing information, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate estimates.
· Research and gather cost data from suppliers, subcontractors, and internal databases to support accurate pricing.
· Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns and summaries for review by senior estimators.
· Maintain organized and up-to-date records of project estimates, bids, and related documentation.
· Maintain and build customer relations.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Civil Engineering degree or diploma in Civil Engineering Technician/Technology program or construction engineering.
· 1-2 years of estimating and project management experience within heavy civil sewer and road construction projects.
· Experience in managing all aspects of road building, asphalt, and construction projects.
· Working experience with Bid2win, Plan Swift and Bluebeam softwares.
· Experience managing ICI projects is an asset.
· Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
· Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyse and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
· Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
· Superb communication and interpersonal skills
