Journeyman Millwright
Position Description
Accountable for performing high quality maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner to deliver reliable performance on all fixed mining, plant and hoisting equipment.
Responsibilities

• Demonstrate pride in workplace through maintaining a high standard of housekeeping at all times
• Effective trouble shooting (root cause analysis).
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor: guard for blast, fire watch, other emergency duties that are trained or qualified to perform
• Train Apprentices and or Subordinates when required to do so.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety, environmental & health Zero reportable
• Complete all service sheets and other job-related paperwork to high standard – focusing on accuracy of information returned to the Supervisor and or Planner (hours, parts, tasks completed, any other defects identified)
• Identify and resolve issues associated with breakdown/corrective maintenance in a timely manner. Apply basic root cause analysis (5 whys) where appropriate. Provide feedback to the Supervisor if necessary.
• Ensure allocated jobs are always completed safely and to a high quality. All tasks followed through to completion unless otherwise discussed with the maintenance supervisor
• Positive interaction with all workshop personal – displaying genuine concern for their safety and well being
• Carry out maintenance and lubrication activities assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with safe work procedures and workshop standards.
• Make use of computer-based maintenance systems if required as part of the role
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area both during and after completing a task. This includes cleaning, tagging and returning used parts,
• Provide quality feedback (both written and verbal) to the Maintenance Supervisor relating to all work undertaken.

Qualifications

• Dismantle machinery using various hand tools
• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Align machines and equipment, using laser alignment and/or dials
• Assemble and install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
• May be required to perform installation and maintenance work as part of team of skilled trade workers.
• Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, using hand tools and power tools.
• Journeyman Millwright preferred or other related trade.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work well with others.
• Good communication skills required
• Computer skills required; able to learn SAP, Element, Etc.
• Previous experience with mine/mill stationary equipment
