Job Description
Progression3 is in search of an IT Security Analyst in Calgary for a 12-month contract with our client.

  • Keep current with emerging security alerts and issues. Assess and respond to items that could impact the business units;
  • Participate in IT Security awareness activities such as training and awareness campaigns
  • Provide daily IT Security Operations event triage within the SIEM (Splunk Enterprise Security)
  • Assess need for security reconfigurations (minor or significant) and follow them through to completion;
  • Conduct vulnerability scans of the company environment to identify potential risks;
  • Participate in IT Security On-Call rotation;
  • Action and manage tickets assigned to Security Operations via the ServiceNow platform
  • Participate in IT Security incident handling, including assessment of technical security events, policy infringements, and others;
  • Make risk-based decisions and modifications to IT Security systems in order to provide functionality requested by the business units;
  • Provide subject matter expertise to assist in IT Security Architecture direction and decisions
  • Identify and resolve security issues and items that may result from vulnerability scans, security assessments or technical solution implementations;
  • Manage and maintain IT Security Operations infrastructure devices and software
  • Participate in IT and business discussions promoting the benefits and requirements of secure computing solutions;
