CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for an Intern, Come to Work! Reporting to the Director, Come to Work, the Intern, Come to Work will work closely with staff and Management to assist in research, development, and support of the Come to Work Program. This position requires a superior level of accuracy, confidentiality, sound judgment and diplomacy. This position requires the flexibility to work hours that reflect the talent pool in different geographic regions across the country.
Your impact at CNIB
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of all programs and events related to CNIB's Come to Work Program with subject matter experts.
  • Produces ad hoc reports and presentations as needed.
  • Respond to program inquiries.
  • Oversee all aspects of orientation, including facilitating orientation and supporting Talent Pool members.
  • Provides general administrative support including, but is not limited to filing, drafting, and editing correspondence, and reporting.
  • Regular follow ups with potential and current Talent Pool members, by phone, email and in person.
  • Review incoming referrals and scheduling intakes with Program Coordinators.
  • Assist in the development of program materials.
  • Create a bulletin focusing on important upcoming information relating to the POD.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as partner employers and mentors, as per project deliverables.
  • Liaise with CNIB Foundation staff to implement aspects of the project.
  • Conduct research on a variety of topics as required.
Who You Are
  • Professional attitude, results oriented, self-directed, and flexible.
  • Must be able to travel independently within the region via public transit, car, or ride-share.
  • Must be mature and responsible.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Customer service oriented with well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent administrative, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Proven time management and organization skills; amenable to changing priorities, deadlines, and procedures.
  • Demonstrates mature and sensitive nature, as well as emotional and social stability when dealing with the needs of persons experiencing vision loss and other functional challenges.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • French language fluency is an asset.
We Want To Hear From You If You Have
  • Minimum Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
Work Environment
  • Occasional travel within the region.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Agile office environment.
