INTERIOR DESIGNER

The ideal candidate will have excellent creative thinking skills and be able to create designs based on conversations with a client. The candidate should be confident communicating regularly with the client in order to assess their needs and be able to adjust a given approach based on feedback. The candidate should maintain familiarity with the interior design landscape and trends in order to provide the best ideas for clients.

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent, 37.5 hours a week.

Job Location: In-studio

Wage Structure: Hourly + benefits

Wage: based on qualifications/experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

• Prepare schematic through to construction/building permit drawings and documents as required, including plans/sections/elevations/3D images and product specification documents
• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors and the team in order to address client's needs
• Prepare presentations (3D, 2D,mock-ups and renderings) for clients
• Meet with the client in order to understand the client's objectives and desires
• Create quotes for clients and ensure full workflow is followed
• Conduct site visits during construction with contractors and sub-trades to help finalize decisions, solve problems that arise and review the quality of work
• Develop creative, client-specific, interior design concepts, including finish selection, millwork design, and product/furniture selections for both residential and commercial projects
• Maintain industry knowledge in order to stay relevant

Qualifications

• Attention to detail
• Bachelor of Interior Design, or equivalent
• Strong creative, communication, and organizational skills
• BC Building Code knowledge
• Intermediate level of product knowledge
• Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in a related field
• Proficient in Revit or Vectorworks Architect and Microsoft Office suite
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
