Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Human Resources Business Partner will primarily be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of day-to-day functions of the HR department including full-cycle recruitment, onboarding and orientation training, health and safety, employee relations, strategic planning, human resource administration and more. If you are self-starter who is interested in honing your leadership skills as a strategic partner, then this is the job for you!
What You Will Do:
  • Advise and assist Managers and Supervisors on interpretation and administration of policies, programs, and applicable legislations.
  • Facilitate and manage all onboarding and orientation procedures for new hires.
  • Conduct training presentations and ensure BRC is in compliance with employee training mandated by applicable legislation.
  • Full-cycle recruitment including but not limited to working with management to identify personnel needs and job specifications, creating job postings, conducting phone screens, interviewing, and conducting reference checks.
  • Advise managers on company policy regarding equal opportunity employment, various forms of harassment, and any recommended changes.
  • Manage the return-to-work procedures for all team members returning to work following an injury.
  • Develop and provide recommendations for policies and processes.
  • Ensure job descriptions are kept up to date.
  • Review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department.
  • Educate both current and prospective employees on company policies regarding job duties, working conditions, safety, wages, career advancement opportunities, employee benefits and recreation programs.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with injured team members and Supervisors to complete incident/accident reports. Ensure all workplace injuries are reported to WSIB online.
  • Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data, e.g. hires, transfers, absenteeism rates, and performance appraisals.
Requirements
We are seeking passionate candidates who possess the following experience and competencies:
  • Excellent inter-personal relation skills.
  • Highly organized with effective time management skills. Has the ability to multi-task and deliver tight deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and to ensure they are clearly communicated to an audience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist or similar role.
  • High attention to detail and quality standards.
