Job Summary:


Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys partnering with multi-level leadership and problem solving! This HR Business Partner position is a 12-month contract/acting opportunity and will report to the Manager, HR Business Partners. The selected candidate will provide sound HR advice and realistic solutions to associates and executives with regards to employee relations, performance management, organization design and effectiveness, recruiting, employee engagement, compensation, and succession planning activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of multiple Human Resources programs & initiatives in partnership with subject matter experts (SMEs) and championing the organizational change management that surrounds these programs.

What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Establish appropriate HR solutions aligned with business needs and direction. Act as the liaison between the HR department and the business to ensure proper accountability of all people decisions
  • Develop various HR-related projects assigned throughout the year
  • Partner with talent specialist and client groups to support talent development through various programs
  • Responsible for supporting managers through most areas of the employment life cycle
  • Partner and consult with client groups on key processes including performance management discussions and coaching, talent development activities, employee relations processes, organizational design initiatives and recruitment and selection support
  • Build management’s capabilities and effectiveness in managing employee relations issues through coaching and guidance
  • Support management team with compensation programs including merit, bonus, rewards & recognition and promotions in collaboration with the compensation specialist
  • Primary HR contact for defined client groups for all HRBP-related matters. Guides and coaches management through people management elements of the business unit under the direction of the Manager, HR Business Partners
  • Develop high-trust working relationships, as an advisor and key influencer to senior management for delivery of their talent plans


What You’ll Bring:


  • Proven relationship management and consulting skills
  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resource Management; completion or working towards CHRP/L is an asset
  • Ability to influence without authority and working with ambiguity; strong communication and presentation skills
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in Human Resources; 1-2 years of HR Generalist or HRBP experience
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, competing demands & deadlines in a changing environment
  • University/College degree or diploma with a concentration in Human Resources/business-related field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in interpreting relevant legislation and guidelines
