Tatonga is committed to providing high quality consulting services that are timely, innovative and cost effective to meet the needs of our clients.We are looking for a passionate Safety Practitioner to join our team in the Greater Calgary AB Canada Area. The successful applicant will work onsite with our Client at locations across western Canada. The contract will be from September 2023 to December 2023.Candidates will be self motivated, entrepreneurial and looking for a rewarding experience within our organization.

This position is embedded within a client organization and your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct field assurance visits to ensure client minimum standards are met
- Providing support to contractors to meet OHS Regulations, WCB Standards and other legislation and standards, as well as compliance with Client standards.
- Provide Tatonga clients with on-site health and safety reviews and work permit issuance
- Participating/Coaching in development of Contractor Health and Safety Plans.
- Use safety management field experience to contribute to the development of creative solutions to improve and simplify workplace safety management for our clients
- Provide Tatonga clients with solutions to management of their health and safety programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Complete and support worksite inspections.
- Support the achievement of organizational business goals, create and maintain a positive relationship with clients and fellow Tatonga colleagues, and
Qualifications:
- Ability to cope under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to travel within western Canada
- Must have current Drivers License and vehicle with ability to travel locally in western parts of Canada
- The individual needs to have a minimum of 2 years’ experience directly related to the construction of fuel delivery systems at service stations
- Certification as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO or comparable)
- Excellent computer skills and fluent with Microsoft products (Office 365, Teams)
- Strong technical acumen in the area of occupational health, safety and risk management
- You must have a minimum of 5-10 years of health and safety experience within the construction industry in Canada
- A post-secondary education in Safety/Risk Management, with a minimum of an OHS Certificate (CRST/ CRSP designations) are desired
- Ability to interpret and understand health and safety legislation
- Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to plan, organize and maintain attention to detail and manage multiple projects at one time
- Strong communication skills and ability to mentor / coach workers regarding health and safety objectives, work practices and expectations.
