Position:

Health & Safety and Environmental Coordinator Agri Industries Company Milling Montreal, Quebec This is an exempt level position.

NATURE AND SCOPE

• This position is deadline intense with reports required by both internal and external managers.
• This position is responsible for the Safety of this facility as it relates to Employees and Environmental Compliance.
• External contacts are primarily- internal and external auditors and regulatory entities.
• This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
• Attention to detail is required, even when faced with several tasks that must be completed within a 24 hour basis.
• Peer relationships include, Quality Assurance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Plant Superintendent and Purchasing Clerk.

Accountabilities:

• Be accountable in sustaining that the facility achieves passing scores by maintaining constant audit readiness.
• Providing compulsory training to all management, hourly employees, and contractors regarding the adequacy of these programs.
• Develop, implement and maintain current all- programs, records, and reporting as they relate to Health and Safety, Governmental and Environmental Compliance.
• Oversee customer, third party, and regulatory audits within their respective area of responsibility.
• Ensure that a Safe Working Environment is maintained at all times by enforcing Company standards, ensuring that unsafe behavior and conditions are corrected, and following up on regular inspections.
• Be a Driver for (VBS) Value Based Safety and its success for the location.
• Ensure that corrective action plans are implemented so that all deficiencies identified by an audit is completed in a timely manner.
• Constantly striving towards achieving the goal of Zero Is Possible through employee engagement, leading by example, and innovative thinking.
• Communicate daily to Management on issues regarding Plant Safety, and Environmental issues.
• Ensure that the location is in constant compliance with all WSIB and Federal Government regulations, policies and guidelines.
• Responsible for the implementation and application of all Health and Safety, Environmental, and Operational principles.
